Terms & Conditions
1. Who we are
Visit Këlcyra (visitkelcyra.com) and the Kelcyra Rafting Team are run by Juli Elezi, a sole trader, trading as Visit Këlcyra / Kelcyra Rafting Team, SH75 6401, Këlcyrë, Albania. Email: visitkelcyra@gmail.com. In these terms, "we" and "us" means Juli Elezi and the guides and staff who work with him; "you" means the person who books, and every participant in the booking.
These terms apply to booking requests made on this website and to the tours and activities we organise (rafting, hiking, canyoning and similar outdoor activities, and cultural tours). By sending a booking request, or by taking part, you accept them.
2. Booking requests and confirmation
The website takes booking requests, not bookings. A request is not a contract and reserves nothing. We answer each request by WhatsApp or email; your booking is confirmed only when we confirm it to you, with the date, the activity, the meeting point and time, and the price.
Please give correct details when you send a request (name, email or WhatsApp number, date and number of people), and tell us about anything that matters for the activity, such as children in the group or a medical condition (see section 5).
3. Prices and payment
Prices on the website are a guide. The price that applies is the one we confirm for your booking. There is no online payment and no deposit. You pay on the day of the activity, in cash or by card.
4. Cancellation and changes
By you. You can cancel free of charge up to 1 day before the activity, by WhatsApp or email. If you do not come, we will try to contact you; there are no fees. If you want to change the date, tell us as early as you can and we will offer another date if we have one.
By us, for weather or river conditions. Rafting and other outdoor activities depend on the weather and the river. If the conditions are not safe, we contact you one day in advance to cancel and offer you a new date. Conditions can also change on the day: the guide may change, shorten or cancel the activity, including after it has started, whenever safety requires it. The guide's decision on safety is final. Because nothing is paid in advance, there is nothing to refund; if you have already paid for an activity that we cancel before it starts, we refund that payment in full.
By us, for other reasons. If we have to cancel for another reason (for example, the guide is ill), we tell you as soon as we can and offer another date.
5. Who can take part
For rafting and other water activities, every participant must:
- be at least 12 years old; anyone under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian, who signs the waiver for them;
- be able to swim;
- weigh no more than 120 kg;
- be in good health, and tell the guide before the activity about any medical condition that could affect their safety (for example heart conditions, epilepsy, pregnancy, or a recent injury or operation);
- not be under the influence of alcohol or drugs, before or during the activity;
- attend the safety briefing, follow the guide's instructions at all times, and wear the safety equipment provided (helmet and life jacket) for the whole activity.
Other activities may have their own requirements, given on the activity's page or when we confirm the booking. The guide may refuse to take, or stop taking, anyone who does not meet these requirements or whose behaviour puts themselves or others at risk.
6. The waiver
Every participant signs the participant waiver (agreement and declaration of responsibility) before the activity: online at visitkelcyra.com/en/waiver (we send you the link) or on paper on the day. A parent or legal guardian signs for anyone under 18. Nobody takes part without a signed waiver. The waiver is part of these terms; where the two differ on the activity itself, the waiver applies.
7. Equipment and safety
We provide CE-approved safety equipment (a helmet and a life jacket) and you wear it for the whole activity. The guide carries CE-approved rescue equipment (rope and carabiners), a whistle, a mobile phone and a first-aid kit. Bring what the activity's page or our confirmation asks for (for example, clothes that can get wet and shoes that stay on your feet). Please look after the equipment we lend you.
8. Risks and liability
Outdoor activities in nature, rafting above all, carry risks that cannot be removed entirely: of injury, and of damage to or loss of belongings (water, rocks, falls, cold, the weather). You take part freely and knowing this.
As in point 10 of the waiver, you release Visit Këlcyra / Kelcyra Rafting Team (Juli Elezi), its guides and staff from liability for physical injury or damage to property that happens before, during or after the activity, including damage caused by third parties or other participants, except in cases of serious, proven negligence on our part. Nothing in these terms limits liability where the law does not allow it to be limited.
Insurance. We do not have liability insurance that covers you. We recommend that every participant has their own travel insurance that covers adventure activities such as rafting, including medical costs and rescue.
Keep valuables with you only if you need them; we can keep a few small items in a dry bag, but we are not responsible for belongings except where we were seriously negligent.
9. Photos and videos
We may take photos and videos during the activity. We share them on our website and social media only with your consent (the optional box on the waiver), and you can withdraw that consent at any time by writing to visitkelcyra@gmail.com. Photos showing children's faces are never published. How we handle personal data is in the Privacy Policy.
10. Partners and other businesses
The website lists businesses, accommodation, restaurants, partners and supporters in the area. They are independent of us: we do not run them and are not responsible for their services, prices or availability. Any booking you make with them is between you and them. A business marked "Partner of Visit Këlcyra" or "Sponsored" works with us or pays for its listing; that is not a guarantee of its services.
11. The website
We try to keep the information on the website correct and up to date, but routes, opening times, prices and conditions change. What we confirm for your booking is what applies.
12. Complaints
If something was not right, tell the guide on the day or write to visitkelcyra@gmail.com, and we will reply within 14 days.
13. Law and languages
These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Albania, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection rules of the country where you live that apply to you.
These terms may be available in several languages. If the versions differ, the English version applies.
We may update these terms; the version that applies to your booking is the one published when we confirmed it.
