Rrënojat e Kishës së Shën së Premtes – Mbrezhdan, Këlcyrë

The ruins of the Church of St. Friday are located in the village of Mbrezhdan, part of the Malëshovë region, in the territory of the Municipality Këlcyrë. The church occupies a dominant position in the surrounding terrain, offering a panoramic view of the town of Këlcyrë, the Këlcyrë Gorge, the Vjosa River valley and the Dëshnicë Valley. Located on a high point, the church constitutes a special observation point, from where the characteristic landscape of the area unfolds, with mountains, valleys, river flows and settlements that intertwine in an impressive panorama. This position gives the object not only historical and religious importance, but also landscape and touristic. The Church of St. Friday is one of the seven churches of the village of Mbrezhdan, testifying to the rich religious and spiritual tradition of this settlement. Although today it is preserved in ruins, the remaining traces represent part of the ecclesiastical heritage and the historical memory of the local community. Due to its dominant position and the wide panorama it offers, this monument represents a potential for the development of cultural and natural tourism. Its inclusion in the tourist itineraries of the Malëshovë region would enable the promotion of the religious heritage of Mbrezhdan, alongside the natural beauties of the Këlcyrë Gorge and the Vjosa and Dëshnicë valleys.
