THE BATTLE OF TENDA E QYPIT
The Battle of Tenda e Qypit was one of the most significant engagements of the Albanian National Liberation War. Fought in January 1944 during the German Winter Offensive, the battle saw Albanian partisan forces successfully resist the advance of German troops through this strategic mountain pass. Led by Zylyftar Veleshnja, the partisans defended the route, enabling the safe movement of resistance forces and helping preserve their operations in southern Albania. Today, Tenda e Qypit is remembered as a place of historical importance, symbolizing the courage and determination of the Albanian resistance during World War II.
